This is a team environment role with aspects of individual expectations. As part of this team of packaging operators, your day to day will be set at a high pace with attention to detail, safety, and efficiency at the top of your list.

You will be trained in all aspects of the packaging process. Forklift experience is an asset, but not required. Aptitude for understanding and using machinery and tools is an asset.

A clear understanding of English is required for safety and proper training. More Women are needed in the craft beer industry so come on down if this is your shtick!

Assistant Brewer - Full-Time - Victoria

We are looking for a crafty individual with a can-brew attitude to join our energetic and creative brewing team. If you’ve got a passion for brewing exceptional beer and seek inspiration through fermentation, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

· Tank management (gravity checks, yeast cropping and dry-hopping)

· CIP/Sanitization of equipment (hoses, fermenters, heat exchangers, brewhouse, BBT’s)

· Yeast management (harvesting, pitching and quality)

· Brewhouse operations (i.e. milling, mashing, materials staging, etc.)

· Cellar operations (i.e. filtration, carbonation, tank preparation, etc.)

· Completing assigned lab work, with accurate and timely reporting

· Troubleshooting, technical maintenance and quality assurance

· Receiving and maintaining inventory of raw materials and brewery supplies

· Brewery cleaning and general maintenance

· Continual development of one’s own knowledge about beer and brewing

· Other duties as assigned


Skills & Requirements:

· An unyielding passion for quality, craft brewed beer

· Experience working in a production brewery

· Strong knowledge of the brewing fundamentals and processes

· Strong knowledge of CIP and proper sanitary practices

· Troubleshooting and general mechanical aptitude is a bonus

· Keen attention to detail and the ability to problem solve independently

· Ability to work in a positive, efficient manner and interact with other team members effectively and professionally

· Requires the ability to work in a fast paced, wet, loud production environment on one’s feet for most of the day and repeatedly lift 25kg

· Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to accommodate monthly rotating shifts including occasional over-time, weekends and holidays

· A degree in brewing science or related field (chemistry, microbiology) is a plus

· Forklift experience is a plus
